Raw materials and maintenance

Our jewelry is made of 14k gold-filled, 925 silver, natural or organic stones, and crystals. Only certain knot covers are not made in 14k gold-filled or 925 silver, but in metal, as we feel they are more aesthetically pleasing (and just as durable). These materials are non-allergenic and gentle on sensitive skin. We know the origin of all our stones, work with trusted suppliers and select our pearls with the utmost care for a successful result.

The raw materials used are resistant to clear water and most soaps, but can be altered by chlorine, salt, perfumes or household products. Of course, your jewelry won't be damaged by the first dip in the sea or swimming pool (this is the advantage of gold filled, which is more resistant over time than ordinary gold-plated jewelry). Nevertheless, for maximum durability, it is advisable to remove them before such exposure. Solenn jewels have been designed so that easy removal is no longer a problem, so you have no excuse!

To clean and shine your gold-filled jewelry, apply a dab of toothpaste to your jewelry, rub for a few seconds with your fingers or a soft toothbrush, then rinse with cold water. Finally, dry your jewelry with a soft cloth.

What about the solidity of Solenn jewelry?

The elastic threads we work with are tough, single-strand silicone threads that retain their shape over time. We've spent countless hours testing various brands and materials to find the elastic thread that's best for us. The diameter of the wire we use is adapted to each model: for men's models, the pearls are bigger and heavier than for women's models, so the wire diameter is larger.

Each bracelet is fastened with a double or triple knot, covered with a touch of glue to guarantee its solidity. These knots are themselves covered by a knot-covering pearl, in gold-filled or 925 silver, depending on the model.
